So here is what has been going on since the last post... a ton. Most of the front end damage i was able to bang, pull, bend, and pry back a bit closer to what it should be. And not having any means to cut, fab, or weld really made it a challenge for sure. but i finally got the front fenders to sit pretty damn close to factory gap and got the hood i bought all cleaned up,dents pulled, bondo, ect and got it installed. I had HELL figuring out the hack job of a Silvia light harness on the front but finally got it all sorted out and functioning properly. I ended up having to extend and fabricate some of the harness to get the corner light to work, but that is common seeing how the USDM 240sx had only two light outputs(pop ups) and the JDM Silvia has three(fog,high/low) but once that was complete i re-assembled the front end. I had a few more electrical problems that i had to trouble shoot and a few fuses to replace and finally got all electrical components working so i could get her inspected when the time came. After the electrical work was complete i had a buddy come over and help me install the new F1 flywheel, Exedy stage 1 clutch and stab the tranny back in. After topping off both the diff and tranny with some royal purple she was ready for a trip around the block! I fully intended on getting this on video and posting it here but misplaced the camcorder, so i said screw it and went for a little drive without video. Since then i have been driving her as a daily driver and i can say i am REALLY surprised and pleased thus far. She passed inspection just fine, and runs great, no over heating, or oil burning issues, the only thing is she takes a bit of time to fire up if you let her sit for a good while.. i am still working this minor issue. I have also installed a GTR grille i salvaged from a friends wrecked sil80 (thanks RBgreddy) pulled more dents, sprayed a coat of primer, installed a new OEM coolant reservoir, installed a Sony(cheap but useful) stereo, and swapped out some gray s13 seats for the worn out trashed brown seats that came in the car. The rest of the interior is still brown/tan but i am switching it over to gray/black little by little as i find the pieces i need, and have the $$ to buy them! Also in the plans for the interior is repairing the cracks in the dash and suede covering the whole thing. i have been doing a lot of researching and it seems to be the best "bang for your buck" way to go. I am looking into replacing the tweed on the door panels with the same suede material as well. that's it for now, i will try to stay a little more on top of the build with more post but its gonna be a long slow build on a small budget,so things may take a while to come about. The next big thing in the works is coil overs, energy bushing set,and window tint. Till next time, drive safe, Zech.
